Spears 838-C Series CPVC Pipe Fitting, Bushing, Schedule 80, 1" Spigot x 1/2" NPT Female

The Spears 838 series reducer bushing is made of schedule 80 CPVC, has a spigot end and a female NPT end, connects two pipes that have different diameters, and is suitable for waste water systems in residential applications. This schedule 80 (thick wall) fitting is made of CVPC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) for better resistance to corrosion and to higher pressures and temperatures than PVC (polyvinyl chloride). CPVC can be connected to other materials, such as steel or copper, using transition fittings. This reducer bushing connects two pipes running in the same direction that have different diameters and end types. The spigot connection fits into the end of a female unthreaded pipe for enhanced flow and the female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threaded end connects with a male NPT threaded pipes for a tighter seal than straight threads. The fitting has an operating temperature range of 73 to 200 degrees F (23 to 93 C). This reducer bushing fitting meets American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM) D2467 for quality assurance, National Sanitation Foundation International (NSF)/American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Standard 61 Annex G for potable water, and conforms with lead content requirements for "lead free" plumbing as defined by California and Vermont.
